Digital Summer Meetings: Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. on the Bloomsburg University Science Fiction Club Facebook Group.

Welcome to the Bloomsburg University Manga and Anime Club (BUMAC) webpage. We hold free public showings of anime every Monday and Thursday at 7:45 p.m. in Bakeless Center Room 207. Please enjoy your stay and we hope to see you at the next meeting!

At our seventh summer meeting we watched Ah! My Goddess - The Movie. "It has been three spring-times since Belldandy came to Earth to grant Keiichi one wish. Things seem to be fine with them while living in the temple with Belldandy's sisters Urd and Skuld, but little do they know that a fallen god from Belldandy's past has escaped from his lunar prison. He has plans for everyone which do not include what the goddess and her human lover wanted for themselves."

At our sixth summer meeting we went a little off the beaten
path and watched the Asian live action movie The Legend of Suriyothai. “Thai Prince Chatrichalerm Yukol himself
directed this saga of 16th century Thailand,
which plunges deep into the era's royal court intrigue and bloody battles with
neighboring Burma.
The plot centers around two women: The noble and beautiful Princess Suriyothai
(M.L. Piyapas Bhirombhakdi), who sacrifices her own true love (and eventually,
her life) for the good of the country, and Srisudachan (Mai Charoenpura) a
scheming lady of the court who plots to seize the throne.“

This is a reminder that we will not have a July 2nd meeting. Have a good 4th of July and see at the July 9th meeting!

At our fifth summer meeting we watched Highlander - The Search for Vengeance. "The lone warrior Colin travels with the wise-cracking ghost Amergan through the ages searching for the immortal despot Marcus Octavius, who killed his lover on the Celtic plains tens of centuries ago. On his quest, he discovers New York is submerged, and one dominant monolith fortress towers over the seas. Colin can save the survivors, but his sword only hungers for the blood of one man. Despite many lifetimes of training, Colin has failed to vanquish Marcus on the great battlefields of history. Can he finish what he started and stop Marcus? Will Colin lead the people to freedom or become consumed by hate? There can be only one."

At our forth summer meeting we watched The Enemy's the Pirates! From Animenfo: "Latell and Apulo are some of the most dangerous detectives on the
force. In their rampant pursuit of space pirates, they end up causing
more property damage than any one pirate could possibly hope to create.
The chief, sick of all the bills, decommissions their ship and sends
the duo packing. Hopefully, Apulo and Latell can survive long enough
without the protection of the agency to find out what those pirates are
up to and stop everyone in the known universe from becoming a cat!"

At our third summer meeting we watched Master Keaton OVA. “The past conceals grand adventures! Keaton explores the amazing history of a Scottish watch enshrined in Japan and a bottle of fine French wine hidden from the Nazis. Then Keaton uncovers a false "Robin Hood" and must run for his life! Attempting to follow his dreams Keaton turns to archaeology, but just as his passion led to his first murder investigation, Keaton finds danger on his next dig site when the natives strand the team in the Taklimakan desert!”

Currently, the 4th meeting is scheduled to be our last pre-planned summer meeting. We will decide at this meeting as to the panning of future meetings. See you there!
At our second summer meeting we watched Master Keaton. “The
amazing Taichi Keaton works on cases around the globe that always lead to
adventure! He combines his arsenal of multidisciplinary expertise in
investigation, archeology, and survival with his experience as a professor, a
Falklands Conflict veteran and a SAS agent to unravel the often dangerous
challenges in each riveting episode. In this volume, he rescues the beautiful Sofia from a gang of thugs in Greece,
then works with bounty hunters to locate a terrorist in Germany. Later,
after he escorts the heir to an Italian fortune to France,
he meets an "immortal" being chased by the Russian mafia in Poland, and finally returns to Paris for an emotional reunion!”

As always,
our meeting are always free and open to the public, so please join us!

At our first summer meeting we watched DNA2. “Junta has a problem: he’s a girl-allergic loser! All
this changes with the arrival of Karin, a gorgeous time-traveler who transforms
him into the Mega-Playboy, the suavest girl-magnet around. Suddenly, Junta’s
wildest dreams have come true, and all the prettiest girls in school have
fallen in love with him. With so many adoring fans, mayhem is sure to follow,
and Junta finds himself in the center of one hilarious romantic mishap after
another. But the transformation is dangerously unstable, and if Junta can’t
unravel the time traveler’s mystery, his life (and the fate of the world) will
never be the same!”

Next week our meetings will move to Monday and will remain
on Monday for the remaining meetings. See you there!
