We wish Michael the best in his future endeavors, he will not be returning to Bloomsburg University in the fall. News on his replacement will be announced at a later time.

FINAL SUMMER MEETING - Tenth Summer Meeting: Great Teacher Onizuka Live-Action

At our tenth and final summer meeting for 2012 we watched Great Teacher Onizuka Live-Action.

Overview: Former juvenile delinquent Onizuka finds himself thrust into a role of high school teacher facing students who behave just as he used to and an administration that doesn't trust him. Using the brash and unorthodox methods he picked up in his youth Onizuka manages to reach through to his kids and help them with their problems.

Thanks to all those who attended and made another year of summer meetings a success. Hope you all had a good time and see you in the fall! - The officers of BUMAC

Ninth Summer Meeting: Alien Defender Geo-Armor Kishin Corps

At our ninth summer meeting we watched Alien Defender Geo-Armor Kishin Corps.

Overview: October 1941, as the second World War threatens to destroy the civilized world, an unforeseen complication suddenly occurs. An alien invasion! Despite the sudden appearance of these extraterrestrial aggressors, the Axis and Allies continue their destructive conflict. Only the Kishin Corps and their giant Geo-Armor Robots (a.k.a.: Kishin), developed from a captured alien robot soldier, stand between the Earth and total annihilation!

Eighth Summer Meeting: Submarine 707R

At our eighth summer meeting we watched Submarine 707R.

Overview: A high-tech terrorist plagues the ocean...To counter the subversive activities of the USR, a shadowy terrorist group menacing the seas, the leading nations of the world join forces to form the Peace Keeping Navy (PKN). Its inauguration ceremony, however, quickly turns into disaster as Admiral Red, charismatic leader of the USR, launches a surprise attack on the PKN. With fi erce fi repower, Red lets his intentions be known that he will destroy anything that gets in the way of his twisted vision of an ideal future... Dive into this exciting deep-sea military action-adventure thriller, as Captain Hayami and the crew of the 707 try to outwit Admiral Red's gargantuan nuclear submarine!

Seventh Summer Meeting: Golden Boy

At our seventh summer meeting we watched Golden Boy.

Overview: Golden Boy is the story of Kintaro Oe, a twenty-five-year-old in pursuit of life's lessons. A brilliant student, he dropped out of Tokyo Universiy's law program because he had had mastered the entire curriculum. Now he lives a simple life, traveling on his bicycle and working numerous part-time jobs ranging from software companies to noodle restaurants in order to learn everything that he can about the world. Although he's a kind and giving person, Kintaro's only weakness lies in his lust for beautiful women. However, as long as he can control himself, he may just manage to save the day, and win a few hearts in the process.

Sixth Summer Meeting: Battle Angel Alita

At our sixth summer meeting we watched Battle Angel Alita.

Overview: Raised by Cyber-Doctor Ido, who found her broken cyborg body in the rubble beneath the sky city of Zalem, she has no memory of the past and an even more uncertain future. A pawn in a game played with living pieces, Gally finds herself set into motion against such foes as brutal spine thieves, the brain-eating gladiator Greweicia, the sinister Mr. Vector and the beautiful but ruthless Dr. Chiren. The greatest threat of all, however, comes from Gally's own employers. When the mysterious Factory orders the execution of her best friend, Gally must make a terrible choice between her own code of honor and the life of the man she loves.
